Counteracting the Corruption in Local Authoritiesis published by ACCESS Association, partner of Coalition 2000. The reader contains Bulgarian experts' analysis with practical data about the legislative framework of local self-government, the opportunities of direct and indirect civic involvement, new forms of civic control applied in municipalities in local issues decision-making and combating corruption. The Code of Ethics of the municipal council members designed by the Foundation for Local Government Reform (FLGR) and the European Charter for Local Self-government of the Council of Europe are included as well. The edition is mainly aimed to serve municipalities and local NGOs as a practical manual in their efforts for increasing local authority transparency and publicity.
