Biography

Kristina Tsabala works on anti-corruption, rule of law, state capture, illicit finance, foreign malign influence, grey economy, and undeclared work. Kristina contributes to improving the anti-corruption capacity of democratic institutions across South East Europe via the Southeast Europe Leadership for Development and Integrity (SELDI) initiative, which includes partners from 9 countries. She also participates in the working group of the Bulgarian Ministry of Justice for the development of the whistleblowers’ protection law.

Kristina specializes in anti-corruption and rule of law measures to strengthen democratic institutions. Her highly evaluated Master thesis was on the drawbacks of the anti-corruption mechanisms in Bulgaria and the reasons behind the lack of their improvement. Kristina has expertise in European and Eastern European affairs, but also on Latin America and Africa. Before, CSD she interned at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Bulgaria at units dealing with Latin American and African issues, as well as at the Bulgarian Embassy in London and Transparency International.
