Enhancing the Integration of Women, Beneficiaries of International Protection by Development and Implementation of Multifaceted Integration Trainings
In the context of increasing refugee inflows in the European continent it becomes highly relevant to propose and implement practical actions responding to existing gaps in migrant/ refugee integration across the EU member states. Center for the Study of Democracy launched an initiative to enhance the Integration of women, beneficiaries of international protection by development and implementation integration trainings. The initiative will last two years, from January 2017 to December 2018. It involves actions in five EU member states (Bulgaria, Greece, Italy, Malta and Spain) and is co-funded by the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund of the European Union. The actions include the exchange of knowledge by way of study visits to refugee servicing institutions in Italy and Spain and by the conduct of five national studies of institutional mechanisms and training needs of migrant women. Collection of integration modules from Italy and Spain will serve to build concepts for training modules in Bulgaria, Greece and Malta relevant to the needs of the country contexts. Eight months long integration training will serve to pilot the modules to consequently transfer the ownership over them to the relevant service providing bodies in each country.
